What is Candor?

An adaptive research platform: fixed anchor questions plus an AI interviewer that asks smart follow-ups.

Candor runs short, conversational studies. You write a handful of fixed questions (called anchors), give the AI an objective, and share a link. Respondents answer one question at a time, and the AI interviewer asks brief follow-up questions when an answer is worth digging into.

As responses come in, Candor synthesizes them into themes (recurring topics with mention counts and representative quotes), computes NPS for score questions, and lets you ask questions about your results in plain language.

The core concepts

  • Study: one research effort with an objective, anchor questions, and its own share link.
  • Anchor questions: the fixed questions every respondent sees, in order. Three types: NPS (0 to 10), multiple choice, and open text.
  • Objective: a short briefing that tells the AI interviewer what you want to learn. It shapes every follow-up.
  • Follow-ups: AI-generated questions asked right after an interesting answer. At most 2 per conversation, 25 words or fewer each.
  • Themes: clusters of what respondents keep bringing up, built automatically from follow-up answers.
  • Projects: optional folders for organizing studies on the dashboard.
A respondent's whole session is called a conversation. You can read every conversation as a transcript, including what the AI asked and why.
