Privacy and anonymity

No name or email is collected by default. Responses are tied to a random browser token, not an identity.

Candor does not ask respondents for their name, email, or any account. A response consists of:

  • The answers themselves, stored verbatim.
  • A random token generated in the browser to hold the session together.
  • The source tag (ref) from the link, if one was used.
  • Start and completion timestamps.

Responses are effectively anonymous unless your questions ask for identifying details. If the one-response-per-device option is on, a completion marker is stored in the respondent's browser; clearing site data removes it. Website prompts similarly store a small marker so a prompt is not shown twice in the same browser.

Planning to collect personal data in your questions? Handle your own notice and consent obligations, Candor does not add a consent screen.
