Themes

Recurring topics distilled from follow-up answers, with mention counts and a representative quote.

Themes are what respondents keep bringing up. Candor clusters the answers respondents give to AI follow-up questions (that is where the reasons live) into named themes, each with:

  • A kind: promoter (praise), detractor (problems), or neutral.
  • A mention count: how many distinct conversations raised it.
  • A representative quote: a verbatim line from a real answer. Every theme keeps its receipts: the quote links back to the conversation it came from.

When themes update

Synthesis runs automatically after every 5th completed conversation, and you can trigger it anytime with Refresh on the Results tab. Existing theme names are kept stable across runs: new evidence lands in existing themes rather than renaming them, so counts stay comparable over time.

Few or no themes early on is normal. Themes need follow-up answers from completed, non-test conversations, so they build as real completions accumulate.
