Comparison · AI feedback tools

Several tools now ask AI follow-ups. Choose on fit.

Asking a follow-up is no longer unique to any one product. Typeform, Maze, and AI interview platforms all document it. The useful question is which workflow fits the feedback job you run every month. This page cites each vendor's own documentation and was reviewed on October 12, 2026.

01 · Options

What each documents, and who it suits

Candor

Documented capability
Short AI-moderated interviews built from your anchor questions, with bounded adaptive follow-ups, themes, quotes, and full transcripts. [4]
May suit
Teams running recurring NPS, churn, or win/loss surveys who want the reason behind a score without scheduling interviews.
Worth checking
If you need a general form builder, usability testing, or long open-ended research sessions, another tool may fit better.

Typeform (Clarify with AI)

Documented capability
Clarify with AI can generate a personalized follow-up question after an open-ended response. [1]
May suit
Teams already building forms and surveys in Typeform who want to add AI follow-ups to specific open-ended questions.
Worth checking
Evaluate how follow-ups are configured and reported for your recurring feedback program against the current documentation.

Maze

Documented capability
Surveys include respondent-specific AI follow-ups; Maze also describes adaptive AI Conversation blocks. [2]
May suit
Product and design teams who want surveys alongside other product research in one platform.
Worth checking
Check whether its survey workflow matches a recurring customer-feedback cadence such as quarterly NPS.

AI interview platforms (for example, Listen Labs)

Documented capability
Listen Labs' changelog documents continuing AI interviewer development, including entries in September and October 2026. [3]
May suit
Broader research programs where AI-moderated interviews are the main method, rather than a short survey.
Worth checking
A full interview workflow may be more than a short recurring feedback survey needs; test both on your own question.

Questions to test on any tool

  1. 01Can you cap how many follow-ups a respondent receives, and does it stop early when an answer is already specific?
  2. 02Does your score question stay unchanged and first, so your trend line remains comparable?
  3. 03Can you restrict topics the AI must not raise?
  4. 04Can every theme be traced to the exact quotes and transcripts behind it?
  5. 05What does a respondent experience if they skip or answer in one word?
  6. 06How are you billed: per response, per seat, per feature, or per follow-up?
  7. 07Run the same NPS or churn question on two tools with a few colleagues and read every transcript.

How Candor answers these is documented on the methodology page and pricing page.
